About the role

We're hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to own both sides of Genpio: the product creators, KOLs, studios, and enterprises live in every day, and the services that keep their AI avatars live and selling on TikTok. You'll ship React features from schema to pixel, and you'll also own the Node APIs, the real-time streaming pipeline, and the infrastructure behind them.

This is a deliberately broad, senior role on a small team. There is no one to hand the hard half to: you make the architecture call, you write the migration, you build the UI, and you carry the pager for what you ship. Thousands of concurrent live streams depend on the decisions you make.

What you'll do

Build the product

  • Ship user-facing features end to end in React, from data model to pixel
  • Turn Figma into fast, accessible, responsive interfaces creators trust on stream
  • Extend the design system and keep the product surface coherent as it grows

Own the backend

  • Design and build Node/Express APIs, data models, and background jobs
  • Work on the real-time streaming pipeline: WebSocket and WebRTC, latency, reconnects, failure modes
  • Choose and tune the storage layer: relational schemas, queues, and caching where they earn their keep

Keep it up

  • Own performance across the stack: bundle size and frame budget on one end, p99 latency and throughput on the other
  • Build the observability you'd want at 3am, then be on call for what you ship
  • Handle scale honestly: backpressure, idempotency, graceful degradation, zero-downtime deploys

Set the bar

  • Make architecture calls alone and write them down so the team can push back
  • Review PRs, mentor, and raise the quality bar without slowing the team down
  • Refactor and pay down debt before it compounds

What we're looking for

Must have

  • 5+ years shipping production web apps, with real depth in both React and Node
  • Strong JavaScript, modern CSS, and browser fundamentals, plus real backend judgment (APIs, databases, queues, caching)
  • Experience running what you build in production: on call, incidents, and the fixes that followed
  • Ability to own a feature alone, from schema through API to shipped UI
  • Clear written English and the confidence to make a call with incomplete information

Nice to have

  • Real-time systems experience: WebSocket, WebRTC, SFUs, or live video
  • TypeScript, and comfort with Vite or a modern build toolchain
  • Docker, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure you've had to debug under pressure
  • Live commerce, streaming, or high-concurrency consumer products

React, Vite, modern CSS, React Router, Node/Express, REST APIs, WebSocket/WebRTC, Postgres, Redis, queues, Docker, Git/GitHub, Figma, Notion, Slack. (This codebase is React + Vite on the frontend and Node/Express on the server.)

Interview process

  1. 30-min intro with an engineer
  2. Technical conversation: React and the browser, then Node, APIs, and data
  3. System design: a real-time streaming or live commerce problem from our roadmap
  4. Practical exercise: a small feature touching both the API and the UI
  5. Craft review plus team fit with Product and Design
  6. Offer
